Objectives

SO 1: FACILITATE THE EXCHANGE, FLOW AND CO-CREATION OF NEW KNOWLEDGE

SO 2: ENABLING PROFESSORS TO TEACH TRANSDISCIPLINARY STUDIES THROUGH INNOVATIVE METHODS AND IT TOOLS

SO 3: STIMULATE SYNERGIES BETWEEN UNIVERSITIES AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SUPPORT SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT EUROPE

  • Bringing together partners from top EU universities in the field of innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship and energy studies in creating a trans-disciplinary innovative content aiming to enhance the technical knowledge of students with business background and strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset and skills of students following engineering majors.
  • Develop a new teaching course content on Entrepreneurship in renewable energy (ERE), which being interdisciplinary and cross sectoral topic, fosters the direct relation between HE and the innovation and business world
  • Develop an Innovating Teaching Methodology through Blended Learning, Trans-Disciplinary Approach to content design and Applying the Principles of Gamification
  • Improve future integration of the course graduates to the labour market;
  • Stimulate self-employment opportunities of MA graduates by granting them training and access to networks of innovative business and other stakeholders in Europe (startup hubs in climate change and entrepreneurship);
  • Increase of entrepreneurship initiatives in Europe in the field of Renewable energy

Activities & Impacts

The project duration is 36 months. The work is divided in 6 WP and 5 Intellectual outpus (IOs). The EntRENEW project will follow the below Work Programme to guarantee quality performance:

  • WP1: Methodological Approach Definition and Design
  • WP2: Pedagogical Content Development
  • WP3: Development of the E-learning Platform
  • WP4: Testing and launch of the EntRENEW Blended-learning on entrepreneurship skills for the renewable energy sector
  • WP5: Dissemination and Exploitation
  • WP6: Project Management and Quality Control

The long-term of the EntRENEW impact will be to create a new generation of decision makers who will explore concrete entrepreneurial solutions in support of EU countries facing the important challenge of maintaining their social and economic performance and being more eco-responsible, especially in terms of energy.

Intellectual Outputs

IO1 Methodological Approach Definition and Design

The first output aims at specifying the pedagogical methodology for efficient training in the Entrepreneurship in Renewable Energy (ERE) blended course and Incubation Hub. It will be the backbone of the project, implemented in 5 steps:

  1. Needs analysis of the targeted groups
  2. Benchmarking on existing education materials and identification of content and training tools gaps
  3. Pedagogical methodology definition
  4. Testing and validation the pedagogical methodology
  5. Global EntRENEW blended-learning methodology

IO2 Training Contents (Modules and materials for the e-learning, in-class sessions, assessment and ToT Toolkit)

The second intellectual output is the actual training content for the EntRENEW course on Entrepreneurship in renewable energy (ERE). The course training materials will be innovative in several ways: how the lessons are presented; applying a blended-learning approach; introducing experiential learning through simulation in a gamification format as component of the e-learning and real-life study cases; innovative multimedia support and tailored design of the learning tools.

Five steps cover the implementation of IO2:

  1. Development of the blended-learning training modules in English
  2. Development of the Virtual Incubator Hub
  3. Train the trainers (tot)
  4. Development of the examination tools
  5. External evaluation of the contents

IO3 EntRENEW E-learning Platform

IO3 aims at developing a Learning management system (LMS) for the Entrepreneurship in renewable energy (ERE) course, including a Virtual Incubator platform, in 4 steps:

  1. Design and development of the e-learning tools
  2. E-learning content development
  3. Tests of the e-learning platform by the consortium
  4. Optimisation of the e-learning after the experimentation phase

IO4 EntRENEW Blended-learning course

IO4 will represent the final version of the course on Entrepreneurship in Renewable Energy (ERE) after a pilot delivery of the course in a blended learning setting.
IO4 is designed in 5 steps.

  1. Students’ selection for the on-line training and the in-class sessions
  2. Small-scale tests of the training through the online-learning platform
  3. Small-scale tests of the training through the in-class studies
  4. Capitalise feedback and improve the educational content
  5. Official launching of the EntRENEW training course on entrepreneurship in renewable energy (ERE)

IO5 Best practices for blended training of students on entrepreneurship in renewable Energy

IO5 will enhance the innovation developed in all project activities, by ensuring visibility, sustainability and the potential for transfer and replication of EntRENEW blended course. It is a practical paper with examples of success stories and vision of innovative start-up (e.g. study cases).
